My Favorite Books of 2015 (that you should check out ASAP)

It’s that time again: time to look back at all the books I read this past year and finding my favorites to share with you. I didn’t read as widely in different genres as I have in previous years (mainly YA it seems), but I found a lot to like. So here are my favorite books of 2015 you should definitely check out in 2016:

Stolen Empire Series

This YA series is a fictional account of Catherine the Great’s rise to power. It’s engaging and pretty darn fun.

Servants of the Storm

This YA urban fantasy takes a look at the dark side of Hurricane Josephine, and I’m hoping/waiting for a sequel.

The Devil You Know

Another YA on the list, this book is a thriller/murder mystery that had me constantly second-guessing the killer’s identity.

Envy of Angels

The only novella on the list, this urban fantasy is so off-the-wall that it’s fantastic. I cannot wait for #2.

2k to 10k: Writing Faster, Writing Better, and Writing More of What You Love

A book on the craft of writing, I’ve found the plotting and revision techniques helpful. I still need to try out the tips to increasing my word count.

His Excellency: George Washington

This biography of George Washington digs deeper into the personality and life of America’s first president. It’s fascinating to see exactly what made him tick.

What books did you enjoy this year? Are there any I should pick up?
