NaNoWriMo: Day 7 Update

NaNoWriMo got off to a rocky start last week. I hated everything I wrote and pretty much questioned whether or not I should even be writing this novel. It was just awful. That probably had something to do with the fact that I’d only gotten five hours of  sleep the night before. Then on the 2nd, I completely restarted. And I fell in love with my novel again. I like where it’s going so far.

Word count has been a bit of a challenge. While I know that it’s entirely possible to get 1667 words done while still getting other things accomplished, I’ve had to choose between the novel, my other projects, and working the dogs. Excuses are great.

Anyway, I’m happy so long as I make progress on this novel. 50,000 words may still happen, but I have book reviews that are the priority. So are the novella and the articles. All I want is to make progress. Even 500 words a day is more than I had that morning.

How many words did you write this week? 5308
How often did you get distracted by Friends marathons? One..okay, maybe two
Will and Grace Marathons One
How many characters have you killed off to date? One, but not a main character
How many NaNoWriMo Angels have you murdered? I plead the fifth
Number of puppy breaks? Multiple. They’re just so cute to resist
Cans of Soda: 2-3 a day
Worked on any other fiction writing? Word Count? Elixir at 1469
Work on any articles? Wrote one and revised another
Accomplish any readying?
Read Once Upon a Lie and wrote review
Total NaNoWriMo Word Count So Far: 5308
Words to Goal: 44,695
Days Remaining: 23

How is your NaNo coming? Is your word count where it should be?
